Quick little post to clarify how to get GIMP v2.10.18 to open raw files from a Canon camera on Windows 10. Useful for editing those pesky image files for correct sizing in the WordPress theme.
- Install GIMP from https://www.gimp.org/downloads/
- Install Rawtherapee from https://rawtherapee.com/downloads/
- Select the raw file (.cr2 extension from Canon) and ‘Open with’ GIMP
- The file will be loaded into Rawtherapee, make any adjustments you want and then when done just close the main window of Rawtherapee……and the file will load into GIMP for further editing.
